Everything Happens For A Reason

Angelica and Cyle were meant to be together from the very start. After bumping into each other several times and still not exchanging information, fate continued giving them chances to meet until they were finally forced to act. And the rest is history! For Valentine’s Day, Angelica asked us to make an original song that would make Cyle feel loved and appreciated.

“Cyle and I met in college — he was the quarterback of the football team and I was a cheerleader. Even though it seemed like the perfect story, everything had to line up perfectly for us to even meet.

I transferred to Benedictine University my junior year of college, the same year Cyle transferred there from Wayne State due to a football injury. Growing up, we lived 20 minutes from each other and went to rival high schools, where he played football and I was on the cheerleading team.

Cyle and I had a class together, I sat in front of him. We had talked a couple of times briefly, but we both dropped the class and nothing serious came out of it.

Fast-forward a year later, we bumped into each other in the parking lot — I was going to talk with a professor and Cyle had forgotten an assignment in his car. Again, we talked briefly, but then went our separate ways.

Cyle had a friend on the football team who knew me, and asked him everything he could about me and what kind of girl I was. Later, I asked the same friend about Cyle, and he told me how Cyle had done the same.

We ended up bumping into each other again, and this time finally exchanged numbers. He tried to be Mr. Smooth and wait three days before texting me, but I called him out for it and we both thought it was funny.

After that, we were inseparable. Our first date, we went to Mongolian BBQ (we laugh about it now because I hated the place, but went along with it because I liked him). He was so nervous when we got there and sat down that he bumped his elbow and started bleeding. He tried to play it off so smoothly, so it’s funny to look back on. We laugh about that day and how nervous we both were and excited to finally go on a date together.

Over the course of a couple months we grew closer and closer; our love for each other was so strong and was only getting stronger. We said “I love you” for the first time on Valentine’s Day, and he started to tear up. It was at that moment I knew he would be the man I would love for the rest of our lives.

Cyle is my world. He truly is my soulmate and I would be lost without him. He means everything to me. I’m so fortunate to call him my husband. We got married this past September on his birthday, and later found out I was pregnant with our first child. He was so excited he cried.

Inside my wedding ring he had the words “Everything happens for a reason” engraved. Those words truly describe our story of finding each other perfectly: if our crazy lives didn’t line up the way they did, we never would have met.

We can’t wait until our little future quarterback is here so we can share our one-of-a-kind love with him.”
